Design trends 2017
1. Semi-flat design
In the last few years flat design was taxiing, but now, under the influence of Material Design, it is becoming increasingly multidimensional. This transition begins with some light shadows, making it semi-flat design. The evolution of flat design with a minimalist style exposed to new technologies. Flat design still has not disappeared, but it is an evolutionary change.
Smooth shading adds depth and complexity without ruining the feeling of “a fly”. This new feature was added to the flat trend this year and will continue to evolve.
Cinemagraph is not the usual GIF that we see everywhere in the network. Cinemagraph is a static image with little elements that move. This technique makes a simple picture more realistic.
3. More 3D
3D, of course, controls the progress, and we will see its impact in all spheres of the design. The special impetus is given by the revolution of VR/AR, it's developing quite rapidly.

5. Geometric shapes and patterns
This trend was on the top in 2016 and, of course, is there in 2017. You can personalize the website, just by adding some modern forms or flat.
6. Bright colors
Use bright colors to make a statement. Material design and flat design goes well with bright colors. You can use the color palette provided by Google to choose a few colors that you like.
7. Color transitions
Color transitions are one of the most notable trends nowadays. For example, Instagram decided to change its logo using flat colors to gradients. From logos to buttons or overlays of images – this trend gained great strength.
8. Responsive design
The mobile devices generate more and more traffic, so responsive design is quite widely used.
9. Original graphics and illustrations
The trend of original illustrations and graphics continues to displace the photo, which is however still popular in web design. However, more and more designs based on specially created images.
10. Non-standard use of mesh and neutral space
It is no longer sufficient to adhere the mesh, the designers are trying to break this “Golden” rule in a very creative way.
11. The historic character of the sites
Web sites are starting to tell stories to convince clients to stay on the page. People are usually more interested in stories than in simple information.
12. Lazy loading
Lazy loading delays loading of images in long web pages, the content appears in the right spot.
